How to Keep Client Notes in Premiere Pro with Workflo

Client feedback rarely arrives in one place. A brief lives in a document, a decision arrives by email, and a revision comes up in a meeting. Workflo lets you keep project notes and links inside Adobe Premiere Pro, so you can return to that context while editing.

Build a small project reference note

Start with the links you need repeatedly: the current brief, the client conversation, the approved script, and the review document. Give each link a useful label, such as “Approved script — version 3,” instead of leaving a list of unexplained URLs.

These links point to the original conversations and documents. You still need access to the source service; adding a link does not import an email thread or replace the original file.

Turn meeting notes into decisions

After a client call, record the date, the decision, and the next action. Separate confirmed changes from questions that still need an answer. This prevents a suggestion from becoming an accidental approval.

For example: “September 2 review: use the shorter opening. Keep the current music. Waiting on the final end-card copy.” Add the meeting document or email link beneath that note so you can check the wording later.

Make a to-do list you can finish

Use the to-do list in your notes for concrete actions: replace the opening shot, update the end card, and export the review version. Put one action on each line. For a change tied to a particular moment, add a timeline marker with the relevant note rather than describing the location from memory.

A reusable project note can follow this simple structure:

Reference links: brief, script, client conversation, review file.

Approved decisions: date and exact change.

Next actions: one task per checklist item.

Open questions: what you need answered before delivery.

Keep project notes and global notes distinct

Keep client-specific decisions with the project. Use global notes for reminders you reuse across jobs, such as an export checklist or a list of reference resources. At the end of a session, add one sentence describing where to resume.
